McKayla Rose Maroney also known under the name 'MackAir Maroney" is an infamous American athlete that has earned two gold medals in the Summer Olympic Games of 2012 A silver medal for an individual in the vault, and gold for her team. Her parents were involved in athletics, and this led her to begin the sport of gymnastics as a child. She has a specialization in vaulting, and is the only gymnast to be successful in the defense of her gold medal, first earned during the 2011 World Championship, and later, she won it at the 2013 Championship. She was not very happy when she was awarded the silver medal for vault at the 2012 Olympics and wanted to have another go for gold at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Due to an injury and health concerns, she was forced to announce her retirement from gymnastics just before the Olympic Games commenced. In addition to gymnastics she has appeared on a few series on television, and she's hoping to sing. McKayla's future is promising.
